Generous mountain dishes
To perk up after a day hurtling down the slopes all schuss ⛷ or a snowshoe hike, make way for gourmet mountain dishes! It's before all generosity and simplicity which characterize the winter dishes of our mountains, all massifs combined.
Raclette, tartiflette, fondue, aligot, truffade… Each region has its specialties, but most of the typical dishes of our mountains are made of cheese 🧀 and potatoes 🥔, to which sausages are very often added: diots in the Alps, sausages from Morteau or Montbéliard in the Jura... On the dessert side, blueberry pie is essential! called twigs in the Vosges and blueberries in Canada, blueberries are the star fruits that lighten up mountain desserts… and flavor our well-named and delicious after-ski cocoa. We also note the very gourmet Mont-Blanc, which combines meringue, chestnut cream and whipped cream… 😋

Comforting hot drinks
As for drinks, we are looking for sweetness to warm up after winter walks in the snow. Hot chocolate is the undisputed star of mountain snacks. Its thick and delicious texture is comforting. At Quai Sud, it is flavored with all kinds of delicious flavors in our range of our organic cocoas : cinnamon, hazelnut, gingerbread, honey-almond... A cocoa hug 🤗.
Softness, but also character! In the mountains, we appreciate powerful and resinous flavors, like that of our delicious tree flavored organic cocoa 🌲. An original woody aroma that you will find with a pretty enamel cup in our Wilderness box, ideal for those who like to bivouac under the spruces and larches, or simply warm up under a blanket by the fireside.
The mountain is also the Canadian Far North, with the typical flavors of caribou country. Over there, we say that we "sweeten our sweet tooth" when we taste maple lollipops, these lollipops that you make yourself with hot maple syrup just poured on snow. We always accompany these little sweets with a hot drink, which we enjoy with friends or family, by -20°C on hot days... 🥶
Come on, to warm up during this delicious but freezing experience, we recommend our trapper's cocoa flavored with the cranberry, the little national bay of Canada. Coffee lovers will rather turn to our maple flavored organic coffee. If with all that you do not take the Quebec accent!
Powerful alcohols
The invigorating dishes of our mountains are often accompanied by local alcoholic drinks rather "structured". Remember this mythical scene when the famous Bronzés discover the little pick-me-up typical of the Alps... In short, to consume with a lot (really a lot) of moderation! 🠥 ´
We begin soft with the traditional mulled wine, which can be enjoyed at the foot of the slopes after an afternoon of skiing. The mulled wine hut is an institution of ski resorts. Deliciously spicy, mulled wine is ideal with a brioche with pralines in case of a little peckish 👌.
Then, place for local flavors: gentian from Auvergne, genepi from the Alps… Recreate these mountain spirits with our mixtures for genepi and gentian. If you prefer to stay wise, you can prepare them as an infusion because these mountain plants have digestive and healing properties. Genepi is even effective against mountain sickness... but with alcohol, it wakes you up 😜.
Finally, the bravest will be tempted by the specialty of the Nordic mountains, which consists of swallowing a muscular pick-me-up after an hour of sauna 🥵 and a roll in the snow 🥶... In the absence of aquavit with caraway and dill, this water -of-life typically Scandinavian, test our Lucane gin with angelica or one of our Matryoshka vodka : all the raw charm of the mountains concentrated in a glass.
